Hello , my name is Michael Tetrick, Jr.
I am a motivational speaker and inspirational country artist. I have spent the last 34 years speaking at different venues, churches ,schools, recovery centers, jails prisons, etc. etc.
I’ve been very fortunate to see the effects and the influence that folks have received while experiencing the content from original songs inspired by the journey I have been so thankful to have had. It is a unique and impactful way to reach people for sure.
I had some challenges Growing up, I personally went through 17 school changes, which made it very hard to stay engaged in education. That was due to many of the same obstacles and challenges folks face in our culture today. I actually quit school going into my fourth ninth grade year. At that time you had to have 43 credits to graduate, and I only had five. While that had a lot to do with the environment I was in , it saddens me even more to realize I was allowing myself to be defined by those things and just accepted it as “just how it’s gonna be for me!”Fortunately, for me, I had some positive changes come into my life. With those changes of surroundings and people, I went back to school and got a GED, and with that milestone completed aspires for more and went to Ivy Tech community college to learn some trades. Then eventually went through Bible college. ( I didn’t say I aced anything but I was definitely embarking on a new definition of me!) I had dreams and aspirations to be a musician since I was nine years old, and eventually I began to invest myself into that, and found out the through all the tragedy and trauma and calamity of life that I gained a whole lot of insight and understanding that help me write songs, and also books. Now that I’m on the other side of many of those seemingly mountainous obstacles, I relish the experiences and view all those molehill moments as worth the wounds.
I sincerely believe that anyone with the right encouragement can turn from a situation of adversity and through influence and hope, that adversity can end up being the greatest adventure of their life. I’m soon to release my 14th country album in the last 30 years and I’m having the time of my life hoping to encourage and inspire other folks through my story. I am sending many reference’s and hope you’ll take a look and consider a convocation at your school!
